Denver, CO

This is my tip of the year so far. If you want to take a long weekend trip to visit a friend in a new-to-you city, don't plan to do your sight seeing on Monday. Everything will be closed. Except the U.S. Mint.

The sight seeing day turned into a day of enjoying-public-art-because-that-is-never-closed and killing time until the lunch buffet opens. But it was fun.

(I sort of barely believe that the mountains in Colorado are anything worth paying attention to. I was there for three days and this is as good as it got.)

[[[I'm totally whispering this because it's totally heretical, but I personally feel that the Colorado mountains are pretty paltry. Of course, I'm used to volcano cones, but still. OVERRATED!!! OVERRATED!!! Whoops, I'm supposed to be whispering.]]]

This will get you up to speed with what you missed at the art museum. You're welcome.
